CLSU Rizal Park

The Rizal Park is a very important landmark in the university campus. At a glance, you can find at the middle of the park the monument of our national hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal in barong tagalog, not the usual coat and tie.

Around the circular park are benches which were donated by civic-minded individuals and the CLSU Alumni Association, Inc.

The park is a popular venue for the celebration of Rizal Day and National Heroes Day and also, a place for relaxation and social gatherings of faculty, staff, students, as well as visitors. Not far from the park are the university canteen, auditorium, tennis court, interfaith chapel, post office and Chinese study center, among others.

It was established in 1951 as a high school class donation with Mr. Guillermo W. Salamat and Mr. Joaquin Reyes as class adviser and class president, respectively.

In 2005, High School Class ’64 under the leadership of their president, Hon. Pedro L. Bacani and Mr. Reynaldo A. Peralta took the initiatives to rehabilitate the then, 55-year old park.
