Coloma is alumni homecoming guest of honor and speaker

Armando U. Coloma, a successful businessman and entrepreneur is guest of honor and speaker during the Annual Alumni Homecoming and General Assembly Meeting to be held at the RET Amphitheater on April 14, 2012.

Coloma finished BS in Agriculture at CLSU in 1977. He completed his Master of Business Administration at Ateneo de Manila where he enjoyed being at the dean’s list.

Since then, he started his career in the San Miguel Corporation where he rose from the ranks starting as salesman then as market representative. He was promoted as sales supervisor and later, as sales manager at the San Miguel Food, Inc.

Because of his insights and past experiences in private corporations, he was able to establish in 1996 a family owned corporation, the AU Coloma Corporation where he is the president and general manager. He reveals that this trading company belongs to the top 20,000 corporations in the Philippines which gives average annual sales revenue of 300 million pesos.

He also ventures on inland fish farming as well as orchard and rice farming.

Coloma is a well-traveled businessman. He has gone to many places in Europe, North America, Asia and has gone practically in different parts of the country. This he did as participant and also, as guest speaker of international and local conferences and conventions and, as a vacation break being a hardworking businessman.

Coloma shares his blessings by way of spearheading the construction of the San Nicolas National High School (SNNHS) gymnasium in San Nicolas Ilocos Norte where he graduated in high school as salutatorian. The Php 5-million structure is already completed and the equipment are yet to be installed.

He also provides scholarships to poor but deserving students, and through organizations, help the indigent people of his community.

His laudable achievements were recognized by various prestigious award-giving bodies, to wit:
Most Distinguished Alumni Award in Business and Entrepreneurship given by CLSU; Most Outstanding Alumni Award by SNNHS; certificates of recognition (2003-2004) from Lions Club International based in Chicago, Illinois, USA; and various awards from Lion’s Club International District 301 A-2.

In spite of his busy schedule, he still finds time to get involved in various organizations and have quality time with his family. Arman, as he is fondly called by friends and peers is married to Eden Catalma- Coloma, a BS in Inland Fisheries graduate of CLSU, and the executive vice president-treasurer of AU Coloma Corporation.

The couple are blessed with three (3) sons, namely: Arden C. Coloma, BS in Chemical Engineering graduate of UPLB, who works as systems program in Madrid, Spain; Armando, Jr., a BS in Agribusiness graduate of UPLB and is currently the assistant operation manager of AU Coloma Corp. and had already established a business of his own; the youngest, James Arman, a BS in Business Administration graduate with major in marketing at the De la Salle University (Dasmariñas), is presently the sales supervisor of AU Coloma Corp. and manager of the Sanctuary Garden Memorial Park project.

Armando Ulep Coloma is truly a pride of CLSU and is worthy of emulation!
