2020 CLSUAAI Grand Alumni Homecoming marks "80th year of sharing memories"

The CLSU Alumni Association, Inc. (CLSUAAI) celebrates another milestone via a Grand Alumni Homecoming and General Assembly with the theme “Eighty years of sharing memories” on February 7-9 to be held at the CLSU Multi-Purpose Gym.

Some 1,000 alumni from the Philippines and other parts of the world are expected to gather and celebrate on the said occasion.

This year’s celebration features activities and festivities starting with the Commemoration of the 75th Year Anniversary of the Liberation of Central Luzon Agricultural School (CLAS) at the Vivencio Saulong Memorial Park in the morning of February 7. Testimonial lectures will follow in the different colleges which will be given by alumni with exemplary contribution in their chosen field bringing honor and glory to their respective colleges, in particular, and their Alma Mater, in general.

Alumni and guests are also set to participate and enjoy the institutional visit within the university and the Science City community, which will enable them to rekindle their memories and witness the changes in the landscape of the university and in the science city.

A fellowship dinner to be hosted by the Hon. Mayor Nestor L. Alvarez at the Science City of Muñoz PAGASA gym will conclude the first day of celebration.

A grand parade will usher in the alumni homecoming proper on February 8. It will be followed by the inauguration ceremony of the newly renovated graduation site, which will be called “Pedro A. Abella Graduation Site”, in honor of the late 4th president of CLSU who prior to being president served long as Director of Instruction.

The celebration will also feature exhibits of the different colleges at the CLSU Multi-Purpose Gym and the Ten Outstanding Graduate Award (TOGA) awarding ceremony which will recognize this year’s alumni awardees for their notable contributions and achievements in various fields. Afterwards, the General Assembly and Election of Board of Directors (BOD) of the association shall take place with the results to be announced at the end of the day. The winning set of officers will serve and lead the association in the next two years.

The “Breakfast with the University President”, Dr. Edgar A. Orden, will be held on February 9 at the Executive House before the CLSU international official delegation heads to the CLSU International 7th Grand Reunion to be held at Quest Hotel in Clark, Pampanga.

The CLSUAAI headed by its president Prof. Nemesio V. Torres (ret.) and the university, thru the Alumni Relations Office headed by Dr. Jayson L. Marzan, spearheaded the overall preparations, with the help of various working committees to ensure the success of the celebrations.
