CLSU graduates among topnotchers in the PRC Licensure Examination for Fisheries Technologists

Three BS in Fisheries graduates of the CLSU College of Fisheries (CLSU-CF) landed in the Top 10 of the October 2016 Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Licensure Examination for Fisheries Technologists.

They are Mariel C. Benigno of Namillangan, Alfonso Lista, Ifugao, 2nd place; Jaypee S. Samson of Brgy. Balutu, Concepcion, Tarlac, 4th place; and Marz Linnaeous L. Rabadon of Ballag, Bani, Pangasinan, 8th place. Ms. Benigno and Mr. Samson who both graduated cum laude (July 1, 2016), obtained a rating of 87.50% and 86.25%, respectively. On the other hand, Mr. Rabadon got a rating of 85.00%.The three shared their spots with graduates of UP-Visayas-Iloilo City. Messrs. Samson and Rabadon are currently taking up MS in Aquaculture at the CLSU-CF. Meanwhile, Dennis de Lima Tanay from UP-Visayas-Iloilo who also placed 2nd in the licensure exam, is currently pursuing PhD in Fisheries also at the CLSU-CF. A total of 51 CLSU graduates passed the exam registering an overall passing percentage of 68.92%. The 1sttimers obtained 75.86% passing (44 out of 58). On the national level, 457 passed the licensure exam (out of 1,391) giving a national passing rate of 32.85%.
