CLSU is TANGLAW awardee the second time around

The Central Luzon State University in recognition of its outstanding achievements as an R and D institution in agriculture, fishery and natural resources received the 2nd TANGLAW award from the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resources (PCARRD). The award with a 1 million cash prize was first awarded to CLSU in 1995 under the leadership of then Pres. Fortunato A. Battad and Dr. Rodolfo C. Undan as VP for Research, Extension and Training (RET).

The 2003 Tanglaw award was based on CLSU's notable accomplishments in technology generation and promotion of super-ovulated and embryo transfer (SOET) technology on goats, super peanut, tissue cultured banana, aromatic rice, seed production, organic fertilizer production, protected crop culture, YY-male tilapia, among others. The other criteria where CLSU excellently satisfied were financial resources generated; capability building and others (linkages forged, projects implemented, research outputs published and awards received).

In behalf of Pres. Rodolfo C. Undan, the award was received by VP for RET Honorato L. Angeles last November 10, 2003 in Manila Hotel. According to Dr. Angeles, the 1 million prize will be used for R and D station development, capability building and upgrading of facilities.
