CLSU grads post high percentage passing in board exams

It's not surprising that CLSU graduates once again landed in top slots in the different licensure exams administered by the Professional Regulation Commission in 2003, for after all CLSU is haven of top caliber graduates/students.

Sixty seven graduates of the CLSU College of Agriculture hurdled the first ever Licensure Examination for Agriculturists given last July 7-9, 2003. CLSU registered a passing percentage of 57.26% (67 out of 117) as against the national passing average of 22.15%. This placed CLSU in number 3 position among the 112 agriculture state colleges and universities in the country. One of the passers, Mr. Wilfredo Dumale, Jr. (BSA, Soil Science '94) landed in 5th place.

The consistent laudable performance of agricultural engineering graduates recently landed CLSU in second place in the national level (next to UP Los Banos). Fifteen out of 20 examinees passed the 2003 Board Exam registering a high 75% passing rate with Wryan Quiel Viloria (a cum laude graduate) landing in 6th place.

The graduates of the College of Veterinary Science and Medicine are a source of pride too as they consistently landed in top ten of the Veterinary Licensure Examination. Mutya M. Navarettte made it to the top ten examinees landing 5th place in the 2003 licensure examination. CLSU posted a passing percentage of 59% (24 out of 59) retaining its stature as number 2 (after UPLB) among veterinary medicine schools in the country. For this, CLSU received a plaque of recognition awarded by the Board of Veterinary Medicine during the oath taking ceremonies held in Manila Hotel last August 22, 2003.

Seven out of 21 accountancy graduates of the CLSU College of Business Administration and Accountancy hurdled the 2003 Licensure Examination for Certified Public Accountants (CPA) posting a passing percentage of 33% which is way above the national passing of 19.15%.

Secondary education (BSEd) graduates fared even better with 82.52% passing rate (85 out of 103) which was much higher than the national passing rate of 26.4% in the 2003 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET). The elementary education (BEEd) graduates are not to be outshone as they posted a higher 89.33% passing (65 out of 75). The national passing rate for the BEEd-LET for the same year was 26.19%.

Our congratulations to the board passers and may you continue to shine in your chosen endeavors.
