Board holds off-campus meetings

The Board of Directors and other officers led by CLSUAAI president, Dr. Romeo S. Cabanilla held their three regular monthly meetings outside the university campus.

The Board`s decision to go out campus for said meetings has given the directors, other officers and staff as well, the much needed break and also the opportunity to meet alumni who became successful in life. It’s heartening to hear their stories and their experiences after they’ve graduated from their Alma Mater.

Last July 24, 2010, the Alumni Association board of directors, officers and the secretariat held their regular monthly meeting at the Heritage Mansion at Baguio City which is owned by Dr. Romeo T. Padilla (BSAEd ‘67). The three-storey mansion has 19 rooms and a conference hall that can accommodate more or less 600 participants. The Heritage Mansion is located at Kisad Road, thru Abanao Extension Corner G. del Pilar St. in Baguio City.

Dr. Padilla is also the owner/founder and first president of the Panpacific University North Philippines at Urdaneta City, Pangasinan. His wife and three children hold key positions in the family-owned university.

On January 29, 2011, the Board Meeting was held at Mr. Ruben G. Olaer’s rest house amidst his fish farm in Linoc, Binmaley, Pangasinan.

Mr. Olaer(BSA `71) operates a five-hectare fish farm and his harvests (bangus, malaga, white shrimp) are brought to Dagupan City`s bagsakan.

Mr. Olaer is married to the former Priscila Bayuga, a CLSU alumna. They are blessed with three children. Two of them work abroad and the other one works in Dagupan City.

On February 26, 2011, another Board Meeting was held, this time at PhilRice, San Mateo, Isabela. (turn to page 12)
