The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has chosen President Ruben C. Sevilleja as recipient of the 2008 Outstanding Professional of the Year Award in the field of Fishery for his 34 years of dedicated service and commitment as an educator, university administrator and President of the Central Luzon State University.
President Sevilleja has earned numerous local and international distinctions for being an outstanding research administrator and manager, specializing on aquaculture economics, integrated agri-aquaculture farming systems, and public-private partnership.
Moreover, he has played a significant role in the conceptualization and implementation of the Fish Mobile Diagnostic Laboratory, a novel and unique extension assistance that responds to emergencies to problems like fish diseases, mass mortalities and deterioration of water quality. Also has participated in the National Integrated Research, Development and Extension Program for Aquaculture of the Bureau of Agricultural Research.
