Abella (BSA ’76), director, Freshwater Aquaculture Center and the program leader of the research program to the National Evaluation Committee, chaired by Dr. William Padolina, deputy director of the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), and former secretary of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

During the presentation, Dr. Abella highlighted the significant impacts to the discipline, fisheries industry and the academe of the following projects included under the research program: Tilapia Genetic; Cost Containment feeding Options; and Fish Health Management Practices under the leadership of Dr. Emmanuel M.
