With its goal to provide a more conducive learning environment, the College of Arts and Sciences is set to inaugurate its museum of `first' on the second week of February during the CAS festival next year.

The first museum in the university of its kind, this will highlight the pioneering batch of alumni achievers, teachers, students' scholarly works and CAS history as well. Some of these are already on display at the CAS lobby to give students a peek on what the museum will be like.

Moreover, the museum will also occupy the hallways of the departments of Social Science, English and Humanities, Psychology and Statistics.

"Magandang balikan ang nakaraan, marecognize kung sino ang nagsimula para maisip mo kung paano ka tatakbo [It's nice to look back on the past to realize who started the college so you'll also learn how to handle it well]," said Dr. Renato Reyes, dean of CAS.

With the idea of converting the spacious lobby into a gallery, he told "Mahalagang malaman ng tao na heto ang CAS noon, ngayon at sa hinaharap, [People also need to know how was CAS before, how it is today and how will it be in the future].

The museum is expected to give a glimpse about the college not only to students but also to guests who are visiting it.
