Operation Guidelines in the Election Process during the 2024 CLSUAAI Alumni Homecoming

  1. ELECTION PROCEDURE
    • Alumni should register in order to participate in the election.
    • Election starts upon registration.
    • The Chairman of the Electoral Board will officially open the election and announce the 2024 CLSUAAI Election Policies and Procedures.
    • The Electoral Board approved that at exactly 12:00 NN, all precincts will be officially closed. However, voters on queue at the precincts will still be allowed to vote.
  2. ELECTION POLICIES
    • Alumni should present their name tag to participate in the election.
    • There will be a control sheet in every precinct and voters are required to write their names and signature.
    • In case there are 2 candidates with same surname, e.g. Cruz: If the voter writes 2 Cruz in the ballot, the votes will be counted to the 2 said candidates. However, if the voter writes only 1 Cruz in the ballot, none of the 2 said candidates will get a vote count.
    • Complaints from the candidates should be addressed to the Electoral Board (EB) through formal letters.
    • The Electoral Board shall act on any complaint or election protest by a candidate who has not been voted upon by filing formal letter indicating the reasons therein, within one (1) hour after the proclamation of the winning candidates. Upon hearing and deliberation of the complaint/protest, the Electoral Board shall decide within one (1) hour after the receipt of the complaint/protest by a unanimous or simple majority vote. Any decision made by the Electoral Board shall be final and executory, and a copy of the decision shall be given to the complainant or concerned parties.
  3. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR BOD CANDIDATES
    • Graduates of CLAS, CLAC, or CLSU (High School, Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree, PhD or equivalent).
    • Have filed his/her candidacy with the Electoral Board, must have paid corresponding filing fees, and must be physically present during the election.
    • Candidates whose application is disapproved will be notified by any available means of communications.
    • Deadline for filing of candidacy is on January 22, 2024, 12:00 noon.
    • Candidacy fee is P5,000.00.

This policy shall take effect and implemented during the 2024 Grand Alumni Homecoming of the CLSUAAI as approved by the BOARD OF DIRECTORS of CLSUAAI.
