Nueva Ecija`s pioneering seed producer conferred CLSU’s "Gintong Butil" Award

SCIENCE CITY OF MUNOZ, Nueva Ecija, Feb. 8 - A seed producer, whose company produced certified in-bred and hybrid rice seeds which helped thousands of farmers and rice producers in the country, has been conferred the prestigious “Gintong Butil” (Golden Grain) Award by the Central Luzon State University Alumni Association Inc. (CLSUAAI). Engr. Ricardo Magdangal, proprietor of the Tilah Seed Center (TSC) based in Barangay Maligaya here, was handed the award in ceremonies Saturday at the CLSU Ampitheater during the alumni homecoming and general assembly meeting of the CLSUAAI. CED alumnus receives Natatanging Anak ng Talavera award

Jonnie A. Payoyo, a Bachelor of Secondary Education graduate, was recognized as among the Natatanging Anak ng Talavera during the Gabi ng Parangal on May 13, 2014 at Talavera gymnasium.

The committee selected Payoyo for the award because of his outstanding service in youth leadership worth emulating by the citizens of Talavera. The citation reads as “bilang natatanging pagkilala sa kanyang ipinamalas na katangian at kagalingan sa larangan ng Kabataan: Sa Pamumuno.” (“…in recognition of his outstanding accomplishments as a youth leader.”)

The trophy was given by the local government officials of Talavera, headed by Mayor Nerivi Santos.

CLSU Open University Offers Graduate Programs Overseas

In addition to the regular on campus Colleges offering degreed programs at the Central Luzon State University (i.e. College of Engineering, College of Agriculture, etc.), it has also another academic unit called the Open University (OU) that offers undergraduate and graduate programs for non-traditional students. The CLSU-OU was created in 1997 by the CLSU Board of Regents to provide educational opportunities in degree and non-degree programs to individuals aspiring for higher education who are unable to avail of the traditional mode of instructions.
