The Alumni Year 2016-2017 proved once again to be a productive, busy and challenging year. The CLSUAAI Board of Directors in cooperation with the CLSU Alumni Foundation, Inc. (CAFI) and the CLSU Alumni Relations Office (ARO) together with the other alumni officers and staff members, have been very busy all year around as shown by their accomplishment as follows: a) reached out to our Alumni at-large via off-campus monthly meetings; b) Sent invitations to our Alumni who are willing to come over to the CLSU campus for a memorable visit to include our Alumni Center and c) Formulated the CLSUAAI Medium Term Plan: 2012-2020 which hopefully will be realized in the ensuing Alumni Years (AY) whoever will be elected Officers and the proposed amendments to some provisions in the Constitution and By-Laws which are already obsolete.
Inspired by the continued cooperation, unity, hardwork and cooperation of the present Board of Directors/Trustees of the CLSUAAI and the CAFI coupled with the support of the CLSU Alumni Relations Office (ARO) and our Alumni at-large here and abroad, the following were undertaken:
I. CLSU Alumni Hostel
Continuous improvement of the Alumni Hostel by providing the needed facilities/ amenities such as upgrading of air conditioning units, installation of bidet in each room, new bedding such as blankets, bed sheets, towels, etc.
The three-story CLSU Alumni Hostel has the following facilities: First Floor; 14 rooms with reception room; Second floor; 17 rooms and a reception room; and, Third Floor; 10 rooms with conference/seminar rooms and one (1) Bar Counter.
Each room in this three-story Hostel is provided with the following: beds with complete beddings, flat TV sets 24”; air-con, refrigerator, comfort room, bathroom with shower heater and cabinets with dresser. The Conference/Seminar Hall is provided with sound system with videoke, tables and chairs, split-type air-conditioning units, ceiling fans and curtains.
At this juncture therefore, we, the present Alumni Officers would like to extend our sincerest thanks and gratitude to all stakeholders both here and abroad who contributed/donated not only their most precious money but also their efforts, prayers and unending support in order to finally realize this “Dream Come True Hostel”.
II. CLSU Alumni Food Court and General Merchandise
This project of the CLSUAAI is now serving students, faculty and staff and guest/visitors of the University. With its monthly meager income of P63,500, the management have planned to add the necessary facilities for the convenience of all its customers such as: electric fans; tables and chair, etc.
III. On Income Generation: Funds should always be available whenever needed to attain stability and operations of the CLSUAAI, hence, income generation is undertaken:
1. Palay Production Project – a five-hectare rice production project which was granted by the University is being operated and managed by the CLSUAAI. From this project, the Association enable to sustain the Alumni Office staff and financial support to its Scholarship Program and Student-Assistantship.
2. Multi-purpose Alumni Hall and Pavilion – this is another income generating project of the Association. Even with its minimal rentals/fees, it can still augment the funding requirements of the Association. The alumni hall and pavilion serve as venue for birthday celebration, wedding ceremonies, baptisms, and other activities of faculty, staff, and students and even among professional organizations in and outside of the University.
3. Julius Viray Hall – This hall was subdivided into four (4) areas for rent as follows: a). Piso Printing computer works and internet, b) Tailoring Shop and, c)Uncle Mars Stall- All these stalls are serving the needs of the students as well as faculty and staff and non CLSU residents.
IV. Scholarship Program – The Alumni Association continues to sponsor college student scholars and continue its solicitation efforts for more scholarship grants for deserving students. This year in review, the Association’s scholars are as follows:

V. Reaching out to the Alumni at-Large – With the active participation of the Alumni Relations Office (ARO) headed by its Chief of Office, and assisted by the Alumni Association personnel, our alumni at-large in the country and abroad such as United States, Canada, Africa, Thailand, etc. are well informed of our Association’s activities/accomplishments through the webpage of the Association. The communication strengthened the active participation of our CLSU Alumni who have not been in touch with their Alma Mater.
Also, Regular Monthly Meeting were being held out campus whenever an Alumni or group of CLSU Alumni invited the BOD/BOT and other Officers to conduct their meetings in their respective places, to wit: Dr. Cornelio Garcia, President of Ramon Magsaysay Technological University (RMTU), Iba Zmabales; Dr. Romeo T. Padilla, Owner/ Proprietor and President of Panpacific University North Philippines (PUNP).

VII. Strengthening Linkages with the University
The President and Board Chairman of the CLSUAAI represents the Association to the CLSU Board of Regents. He maintains close association/coordination with the University President and his Executives, particularly on matters appertaining to alumni affairs such as fund solicitation from government officials close to the University Administration, request of university facilities and in implementing programs of the Association needing the assistance of the University Administration.
The close linkage of the Association with the University Administration was also strengthened through the Alumni Relations Office, headed by its Chief of Office and about 28 Alumni Coordinators in the different Colleges/Units of the University and Agencies outside CLSU such as PhilRice, PhilMech, DOST, PCC, BFAR, DENR, NIA, PhilSCAT, and others.
VIII. Other Activities of the Association:
The following were also accomplished during the AY 2016-2017.
1. Incentives to Alumni
The CLSUAAI has granted incentives to alumni members who were accepted to present technical/research papers and/or posters to national/international conferences. workshop, convention, symposium and scientific forum. Two Thousand (P2,000) is granted to the presentors if the presentation is held abroad and One Thousand (P1000) if held within the country.

2. Life Membership – The Alumni Association grants Life Membership to new graduates. This year, the Association has granted Life Membership to about 1,300 graduates.
3. Publication of the Alumni Bulletin – This is the official newsletter of the CLSUAAI, published during the Annual Alumni Homecomings. It features the activities of the Association and other related activities of the University. This publication was made possible through the efforts of the Chairman, Publication Committee, Dr. Estrelita T. Gamit, Dr. Eliseo L. Ruiz, Editor- In- Chief; the members of the Editorial Board; Contributors; Consultants and the Alumni Secretariat Staff headed by the Secretary-General.
With the Guidance of our Divine Providence, and the determined efforts and cooperation of all stakeholders, namely: alumni officers, the alumni at-large and friends of CLSU, we are optimistic that we would be able to achieve the vision, mission and goals of the CLSUAAI together with the CAFI, coupled with the guidance/assistance of the CLSU Administration through its Alumni Relations Office. The 8-year Development Plans and Programs (2012-2020) was laid out by the Board of Directors/Trustees of the CLSUAAI/CAFI together with the CLSU ARO during our planning workshop held at the Rice Processing Complex (RPC), Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan, to wit:
Continuing Proactive Engagement with the University.

- Active participation in alumni-related programs, projects and activities of the CLSU

-Establishment of CLSUAAI/CAFI Museum by tracing, organizing and displaying alumni historical facts, memorabilia, documents, etc.
Alumni Infrastructure Development.

- Enhancement of the CLSU Lagoon (with colorful dancing fountains of water)
- Construction of CLSUAAI-CAFI Science Centrum which would accommodate the CLSU Bio- Energy Center and Oil Crops Research Center with modern facilities and mega tower
