Three faculty of the Central Luzon State University were among the seven agricultural engineers honored as 2005 Outstanding Agricultural Engineers in the country.

Heading the awardees is the Dr. Romeo B. Gavino. He is the recipient of the Maramba award for being the Most Outstanding Agricultural Engineers;

Prof. Angelito V. Angeles is Outstanding Agricultural Engineer in the field of Agricultural mechanization and Renewable Energy Systems, and;

Dr. Onofre F. Ringor, Sr. as Oustanding Agricultural Engineers in the field of Entrepreneurial Management.

The awardees were honored in a recognition rites on April 20, 2005 during the 55th Philippine Society of Agricultural Engineers (PSAE) Annual National Convention held in General Santos City, Sarangani.

Truly an advocate of agricultural engineers education, he has been substantiating the minds of young agricultural engineering aficionados at Central Luzon State University (CLSU) for twenty seven years manifesting his extensive training in the field. His active involvement in the agricultural engineering-related researches, extension and training activities; dependable leadership in the Philippine-Sino Center for Agricultural Technology, a research-oriented institution dealing with agricultural engineering sciences; outstanding memberships in the Philippine Society of Agricultural Engineers (PSAE) and on other private and public, civic and non-government organizations which have apparently given him numerous scholarships, awards and recognitions; pungent display of intellect as resource speaker on several local and national conferences and conventions; solid conviction to protect and preserve the environment despite the presence of almost all sorts of technologies, are indeed remarkable that this year, he has been hailed recipient of the MARAMBA AWARD.

In the field of Agricultural Mechanization And Renewable Energy Systems

Seeing his records, one may ask, ''Does this man still sleep?'' His headship and participation in various national organizations: Micro-hydro Association of the Philippines, Philippine Association of Renewable Energy Center, Inc., Philippine Solar Energy Society, Philippine Society of Agricultural Engineers, to name few of the most recent, is so extensive that he is regarded as national innovator of micro-hydro technology; substantive qualitative evaluation of policies, programs and projects on agricultural mechanization and renewable energy systems; life cycle cost approach of financial evaluation of agricultural and renewable energy projects; social and institutional aspects of agricultural mechanization and renewable energy systems; and technology transfer in agricultural mechanization and renewable energy systems. Similarly, he has been in and out of the country to attend numerous trainings and a consistent recipient of various scholarships, honors and awards since his school days. Likewise, amazing is how one can describe his inclination to research. Indeed a pride to CLSU, he has already presented numerous papers and published countless research works.

ONOFRE FABROS RINGOR, SR.

In the filed of Entrepreneurial Management

Central Luzon State University's status as leader in business affairs among the state Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in the country is attributed to its management that he heads, The present and past positions he held at the university, coupled with the administrative experience he acquired in the last ten years helped shaped a keen manager in him. In addition, he showed expertise in other agricultural engineering-related areas such as indulging to various researches on low cost structures and soil and water management; teaching undergraduate and graduate course in the College of Engineering and Institute of Graduate Studies, respectively; resource speakership in numerous training and seminar/workshop in the national arena; and rendering expert technical services. This multi-awarded man was also a consistent active participant in copious training and seminars. Indeed, his records speak of his worth as one of this year's awardees.
